Excuse me miss...

I'm riding on the bus and a 50ish year old woman gets on and sits down beside me. We ride along for about 5 more minutes..I'm looking out the window and I hear someone say, "Excuse me, miss". I feel a nudge and again hear, "Excuse me miss". I turn and the woman says, "Do you think these earrings are too old fashioned?"

She points to her earrings and they are like, some dated, silver, unicorn type design (I don't really know...something strange)

I smile and say, "Oh, um...no! I don't think they're too old fashioned at all"....I can't lie to her! I don't even know her..I feel bad.

She says, "Oh good. I saw some younger woman in the People magazine wearing some similar ones and so I went out and bought some. I just wanted to see what you thought".

Ok? Glad you trust my opinion...our friendship is oh, 7 minutes old. If you see an older woman walking around the streets of Chicago with some unicorn symbol earrings on, tell her I'm sorry I lied to her.
